How it works
Three steps. Nobody gets ghosted.
Buyer pays. Money is held.
The buyer pays through SafeSeat. Their money waits with us and isn't released to anyone until the ticket lands.
Seller transfers the ticket.
The seller sends it in the official Indiana University ticketing app to the buyer's verified iu.edu address. Same way you'd send it to a friend.
Buyer confirms. Seller gets paid.
Once the ticket shows up in the buyer's account and they tap confirm, the seller is paid. Done.
Ticket never shows up?Full refund. No arguing in the DMs.

Built by a student who got scammed. SafeSeat was started by an Indiana University Bloomington student who paid for a ticket on Snapchat and never got it. This is the thing he wished existed.
Questions, answered
- Currently enrolled Indiana University students with a valid iu.edu email address. Buyers and sellers both verify their student email before they can do anything.
- Once the buyer confirms the ticket showed up in the Indiana University ticketing app, we release your payment. Payouts hit your linked bank account within 2–3 business days. You're never charged a listing or selling fee.
- Tell us and you get your money back in full — the ticket price and the $3 fee, returned to the card you paid with, though it takes a few business days to show on your statement. Once the seller says they've sent it, there's a Not received button on your order that refunds you on the spot; if they never send it at all, reply to any SafeSeat email and we'll refund you. No disputes, no hassle. Sellers get flagged for it, and we can remove sellers who don't deliver.
- You're charged when you buy, and we hold the money until you confirm the ticket arrived. So accept the transfer in the Indiana University ticketing app as soon as it shows up, then tap Got it. If something is wrong with it, tap Not received instead and we refund you in full, though it takes a few business days to show on your statement. Don't leave a transfer sitting unaccepted — email us before kickoff and we'll sort it out.
